3 Top Breweries in Whistler

High Mountain Brewing Company Brewhouse

Address: 4355 Blackcomb Way, Whistler, BC

High Mountain Brewing Co makes their beer in house delivering a unique flavor and that local charm you’re looking for. There are flagship craft beers that are offered year round as well as seasonal favorites that interchange. Growlers are available for purchase to bring your favorite beer home with you. For those wanting to get a wide variety of flavors, they do have tasting flights available in both 4 or 8 – 6oz tasters. If beer isn’t your vibe, they also serve up wine and cocktails.

The welcoming restaurant inside is full of fireplaces and a model train to create a cozy atmosphere. There is a large pizza oven which further adds to the ambiance. There is also a large patio which is perfect for enjoying handcrafted beers in the summertime. They have a good sized menu offering appies, bowls, grilled meats, and fire roasted pizzas.

This Whistler brewery acts more as a restaurant than a traditional brewery. It is family friendly which means you can enjoy a nice cold craft beer with the whole family. They offer a hoppy hour Monday to Friday between 2 pm and 4 pm where you can enjoy discounted drinks and food.

Coast Mountain Brewing

Address: #2 – 1212 Alpha Lake Road, Whistler, BC

Coast Mountain Brewing is a family run brewery that opened in 2016 serving up delicious locally made craft beer. This is a great brewery to visit if you love sour craft beer (our fav) or a fresh hazy IPA. The beer is unique and delicious – a must try Whistler brewery! Drink a pint or sample a few different flavors in a beer flight. Their wood paneled interior is very cozy and inviting. They even have a good sized dog friendly patio that you can enjoy in summer.

While you can expect delicious brews, unfortunately, there is no restaurant on site. They do however sell pepperoni and allow you to bring your own food. Pack a picnic and sample some of the delicious beers sold here. The best part is that if you love their beer, you can get it shipped to you all across British Columbia.

Whistler Brewing Company

Address: 1045 Millar Creek Road, Whistler, BC

The city’s OG brewery, Whistler Brewing Company paved the way for the craft brewing scene in the area being established in 1989. They have a wide selection of core beer, a few rotating seasonal brews, and some interesting unique brews. There are 2 different gluten free beers offered in the mix for those with restrictions. This is one of my favorite breweries in Whistler. I highly recommend ordering beer flights here as there are many different delicious kinds of beer to try. If you come during wintertime, you have to try their Winter Dunkel.

If you find yourself here between Friday and Sunday at 11 am, you can take part in a 45 minute tour of the brewery before they open for the day. The experience costs $26 CAD and includes the guided tour and 4 – 6 oz beer tastings. You will need to book online 24 hours before your tour date.

If you’re heading to Vancouver be sure to check out the top things to do in Vancouver.

If you’re looking to pair your beer with some good food, they do serve some appies and pizzas. What’s better than a nice cold beer and a big plate of nachos? There are lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available here. There is a large garage door that invites an indoor/outdoor feel opening up to a dog friendly outdoor patio for summertime which is nice to enjoy.

Montis Distilling

Address: 1062 Millar Creek Road, Whistler, BC

Montis Distilling is the only distillery in Whistler. It has been on the scene since 2019 distilling gin, vodka, and whiskey in Whistler’s upbeat Function Junction neighborhood. The spirits are crafted in small batches and the precision and dedication are easy to taste. A distillery tour and tasting is a great way to spend your day, especially in this cozy setting. The tour lasts an hour and costs $20 CAD.

You can tell that the staff loves what they do and have a wealth of knowledge and passion about the spirits. I love that all their spirits have such a unique distinct flavor, even between the different types of gin produced here. You can even order custom batches of gin.
